Science

To kickstart our theme, we became scientists for the afternoon and went on an exploration around Forest School to see what wildlife we could find. We were able to find different types of trees, insects and flowers! We took our time to be observant and listened carefully to see if we could hear any wildlife too! We created an investigation table and had a great discussion about the things we had collected.

We looked at deciduous and evergreen trees and went for a walk around Broughton to see if we could spot any. We found a lot more deciduous than evergreen trees.

Science Week

Zoo Lab visited us and brought in some exotic animals, including ‘Honey’ the gecko and ‘Casper’ the corn snake. On Monday, we had two lab technicians visit us from Aylesbury Grammar School. They talked to us about the importance of science and how we use it every day! We also joined in with lots of interactive experiments, it was super exciting! Each class took part in science investigations this week to celebrate science by following the theme of, ‘Growth.’

English

We have been asking and answering questions, making inferences and predictions about the book “Leaf” by Sandra Dieckmann. Writing our own versions of the story Leaf.

Non-fiction: We have been using the library to write information texts about polar bears.
